Located in the eastern portion of Ventura County and the western portion of the Conejo Valley; though there remains several unincorporated areas exclusively within Ventura County; the large majority of Newbury Park’s area is within the city limits of Thousand Oaks. Over the years since Thousand Oaks became a city in 1964, various sections of Newbury Park were voted by their then residents to be annexed into Thousand Oaks; these annexations taking place primarily beginning in the late 1960’s and running through the 1970’s.
